]]> Thu Apr 23 2009 Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway http://petes.photobook.org.uk/c1590032.html On 4th October 2008 a group of K&ESR volunteers visited the S&KLR to celebrate the life of the late Andy Wilton, a volunteer on both railways. The date was also the 39th anniversary of the handover of the line from Bowaters to the LCGB. We can only hope the line survives to make the 40th anniversary and beyond. Most of these shots are of two Fowler Ploughing engines dredging a fishing lake at Gulledge Farm near East Grinstead in Sussex early in 1984. One of the engines was working on the disused East Grinstead to Three Bridges Railway trackbed (now Worth Way), the other was several hundred yards away on the farm road. It was a rare pleasure to see two engines actually working for a living. There are also a few pictures taken at the Ardingly Traction Engine Rally also from 1984.
